West Quoddy Lighthouse stands at the mouth of the Narrows separating Lubec, Maine from Campobello. This is the easternmost point of land in the continental U.S., if you don’t count Sail Rock, visible just offshore. In the distance is Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, Canada.
In the Narrows you’ll pass the Plug Light. Although this photo is old... she’s still standing.
Near the end of her life, Eleanor Roosevelt wrote with great affection about those early Campobello days.
